My Moving Buddy is made by Matthew Worner. There is no account service, advertising, tracking or analytics SDK in the app.

What is stored

Your item details, places, groups, dates, photos, clips and voice recordings are stored in the app’s storage on your device. App preferences stay on-device. An optional server credential is stored in the system Keychain.

Photos, camera and microphone

You choose photos and clips to import, or use the camera to capture them. The microphone records voice notes and sound in videos you choose to take. Final photos is an optional album of rooms and storage; it is off by default.

Apple Intelligence and voice

Apple Intelligence features process content on-device on supported hardware. Photo identification uses image input where supported, or image labels and recognized text otherwise. Suggestions may be wrong and should be reviewed.

Voice transcription requires on-device speech recognition. If your device or language does not support it, Buddy does not fall back to uploading your recording for transcription. You can type the details instead.

An optional server you choose

If you select a compatible server in Settings, photos, text, voice transcripts or relevant inventory context may be sent to the address you configure to provide identification or answers. This is optional. Check who operates that server and how it handles data; the app does not restrict the address to your home network. Plain HTTP does not encrypt traffic.

Location, maps and app lock

Location is requested when you choose to pin a place to your current location. Saved coordinates become part of your inventory. Maps and address lookup use Apple’s services. App lock uses Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode; My Moving Buddy does not receive biometric templates or your passcode.

Exports and backups

Sharing or exporting sends files to the destination you choose. A device backup may include app data according to your Apple backup settings. My Moving Buddy does not provide its own cloud sync. A full .movingbuddy backup contains private inventory and media; store it somewhere you trust.

Deleting your data

You can delete records or reset the app in Settings. Removing the app removes its local data. Exported files, backups and copies already sent to other people or a configured server must be deleted separately.

This website and support

This site uses no analytics scripts or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may process request information such as IP addresses and access logs to serve and protect the website. If you email support, Matthew receives your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. Avoid sending private inventory unless it is needed to resolve your request.
